Description

The North Feather parallels highway for its duration from the mouth of Lake Oroville to its origin at Lake Almanor with numerous creeks feeding it and swelling its size along the way. With abundant rainbow trout and limited access, most of the North Feather is still unexplored and holds endless opportunities for anglers willing to put in the work to find them.

River Regulations & Closures: Open year round from Cresta Powerhouse downstream. Above Cresta is open last Saturday in April through November 15th.

Hazards: Difficult access and wading in numerous areas. Poison oak is common. Flows can change quickly. Use caution, large boulders compose most of the river bottom and depth can be very deceiving.
